I see many possibilities with this plug in is all. I haven't found something that needed it Yet, but I think ill find a few uses for it in the near future. Let's not exaggerate the facts with inexperienced slander. It's about application and knowing when and how much. In many cases they even had the hardware Waves was imitating in a rack behind them. #WAVES J37 CRACK PRO#I have worked at and been to over half a dozen pro studios that used Waves plug ins. I've tried just about every tape saturation plugin out there and the only one that came close to real tape is Airwindows ToTape3 and 4 and that's maybe 70% of the way there.Wow. There's maybe 3 or 4 waves emulation plugins that I actually think sound great (CLA and API series) but most are just nice to look at or sometimes work nicely as saturation/texture. It's marketed to the non-professionals/hobbyists of the sound world. Most waves plugins are made to look very nice but don't do what they're intended to. sorry to p**s on people's bonfire but its the truth.the non linearities and subtleties are just not there yet. thats not to say they're not good tools and are not useful in adding some warmth and mojo to individual tracks and on the master bus of a daw to energise and make digital itb mixes a bit less sterile and, well, digital sounding, but to my ears, i must admit, if you want the sound of tape, you really have no other recourse than to get a good tape machine and use that if thats the sound you want for your music. i note that many people say good things about slate vtm, and i'm curious to hear it, but really i think we're not quite there yet with tape emu's. i havent used vtm or satin (i'd like to try satin), but really i think programmers and developers have still to crack the sound of tape in a plug. it certainly doesnt hold a candle to the preco f500 or the otari machines i have in my studio right now, completely different kettle of fish, and i must say in plugin world it doesnt even sound as good as sknote's roundtone or even reelbus.
